Accessibility Statement
Scharf Law, P.C. wants every family to be able to use this website, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion.
Our commitment
CPSAttorney.org is built and maintained by Scharf Law, P.C. with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act. Accessibility is part of how we serve clients, not a checkbox.
Conformance status
Partially conformant. The site was audited on September 9, 2026 with automated testing (axe-core, Lighthouse) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks at phone and desktop sizes, and the issues found were corrected. A small number of items remain, listed below, and we re-test after every content change.
What is in place
- Every page has a “Skip to content” link, a single H1, descriptive headings and landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer).
- All images carry text alternatives; decorative effects such as the gold cursor sparkle are hidden from assistive technology.
- All controls, including the chat assistant, cookie banner and consultation popup, work with a keyboard and show a visible focus indicator.
- Text meets WCAG contrast minimums, resizes to 200% without loss of content, and body copy is at least 16px.
- Animation respects your operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
- Forms have visible labels, clear error messages and no time limits.
- The office map on the contact page loads only when you ask for it; the address is always available as text.
- Spanish-language pages are marked as Spanish so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
Known limitations
- The “Similar Posts” carousel at the end of articles is supplied by our theme and uses list markup that some screen readers announce awkwardly. The same articles are always available from the articles page.
- The interactive Google map, once loaded, is a third-party component we cannot fully control. The address, a text link to Google Maps and our phone number are provided beside it.
